The Varmints are delighted to announce that Tonight's show (October 31st) will feature an extended interview with Walter Trout, all round top bloke and, without doubt, one of the world's finest guitarists. Don't just take our word for it - a late 90's Poll for the legendary "Whispering" Bob Harris at the BBC put him at No: 6, tied with Brian May (!!) and just behind Clapton/ Hendrix/ Moore/ Page & Knopfler (not that it's a competition ..., but to see some of the staggering talent he beat, see the full Poll - click here).

Rob and Matt caught up with Walter a couple of weeks ago at the fantastic Cheese & Grain (across the Somerset Levels in Frome - as in "I believe I'll dust my Frome") and, even though his voice was obviously suffering, his manager was understandably keen that we didn't keep him too long because he'd just done a blistering two hour set, it was well after midnight and he had to get to Milton Keynes for the next gig - he was still willing to give us half an hour of his time... we're definitely not worthy (you can do the actions yourself).

Featuring tracks from his superb latest album, "The Outsider", the interview has Walter waxing lyrical, discussing his work with John Lee Hooker, John Mayall and Canned Heat, as well as his relationship with Carlos Santana, his views on one music critic's opinions and, perhaps unexpectedly, the role of T.S.Eliot in the new album.
